My Skin Routine (And Why Brand Doesn't Matter to Me)

My skin is mature, sensitive, and endlessly trial-and-error — here's the philosophy behind my routine, and why I don't care whether a product is Korean, luxury, or drugstore, as long as it works.

Korean skincare is where I live — it’s most of what’s in my routine, and most of what I reach for first. But my skin is normal to dry, “mature,” and sensitive enough that fragrance and a few other ingredients will let me know fast if something’s wrong. Years of trial and error taught me one rule: if it works, it stays, whether that’s a Korean serum or something entirely different sitting right next to it.

My routine isn’t one set of steps, it’s a cycle. Mornings alternate between a vitamin C day and a copper peptide day. Nights rotate through four modes across the week — a peel night, a couple of retinal nights, an exfoliation night, and a real recovery night with nothing active on purpose. That rest night matters as much as the actives do.

A few products doing the heavy lifting: Dr Reju-All’s Rejuvenating Cream Max PDRN, my favorite Korean pick for repair — this is the one I’d tell you not to skip. Beauty of Joseon’s Aquafresh SPF 50 is the other non-negotiable — the sunscreen I reach for every single morning. And Dieux’s Instant Angel, proof that the rule cuts both ways — not Korean, still earned its spot.

This is the overview — the why behind everything else here. Favorites, empties, what’s not making the cut: all coming.
