Kahlana Barfield Brown’s collection at Target is exactly the kind of “elevated essentials” I want as we head into cooler weather — sculptural shapes, rich textures, nothing flashy, just genuinely well-made pieces that don’t look like they came from a big box store.
I already own the snake print cardigan and I can’t wait to style it. It’s slouchy and oversized in the best way, easy to throw over a tank and jeans or dress up over a slip dress. The one thing I’ll say: the sizing runs generous. If you’re petite or shorter like me, it can swallow you a little, so I’d size down from what you’d normally grab.
I’m eyeing two more pieces from the drop: the peplum denim jacket, which has a nice cinched waist so it doesn’t read boxy, and the striped cardigan with the contrast collar, which feels a little preppy without trying too hard. Both have that same generous, oversized fit as the cardigan I already have, so keep that in mind when you’re choosing a size — I’m still deciding what size to go with given how the line runs.
A heads up if you’ve shopped Target collabs before: pieces from this collection come and go, and some sizes and styles sell out fast. If something catches your eye, I’d grab it now rather than wait.
